The Pretty Top Punch

This cocktail is refreshing, low in sugar, and packed with a good balance of electrolytes to keep you hydrated. It’s perfect for sipping by the pool or sharing with teammates after a good training session.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup coconut water – Great for hydration and low in calories.

- 1/2 cup cranberry juice (no added sugar)– Adds a festive color and is rich in antioxidants.

- 1/4 cup pomegranate juice – Packed with vitamins and antioxidants.

- Juice of 1 lime – For a refreshing zing and a dose of vitamin C.

- 1/2 cup sparkling water – Adds a bit of fizz without the extra calories.

-Fresh mint leaves** – For garnish and a touch of freshness.

- Pomegranate seeds– Optional, for a festive touch.

- Ice cubes – To keep it chilled.

- 1-1.5 ounces light rum or vodka– Optional, for a spirited version.

Instructions:

1. Prepare Your Glasses: Start by chilling your glasses in the refrigerator or filling them with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.

2. Mix the Juices: In a large jug, combine the coconut water, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, and lime juice. Stir well to ensure the flavors meld together.

3. Add the Sparkle: Just before serving, add the sparkling water to the jug. This ensures the cocktail retains its fizz.

4. Add Alcohol (Optional): For a spirited version, pour 1-1.5 ounces of light rum or vodka into each glass over the ice.

5. Serve: Fill each glass with ice cubes, then pour the cocktail mixture over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a few pomegranate seeds for a festive touch.

6. Enjoy: Sip and enjoy with friends and teammates!

Why This Cocktail?

- Low in Calories: Traditional holiday cocktails can be calorie-dense, but this one keeps it light without sacrificing flavor.

- Hydrating: Coconut water and sparkling water help keep you hydrated, which is crucial for athletes.

- Antioxidant-Rich: Cranberry and pomegranate juices are packed with antioxidants, which can aid in recovery and reduce inflammation.

- Refreshing and Festive: The combination of lime and mint gives a refreshing taste, perfect for the tropical Cairns climate, and the pomegranate seeds add a festive flair.
